Manuel “Manny” Padilla Jr. has over 36 years of award-winning writing experience in the media and publishing worlds, working as a newspaper reporter and editor; marketing, public relations and advertising professional; and public speaker. Having completed the first phase of his career, he now spends his time pursuing the writing and publication of novels, blogs and other sundry literary endeavors.
He most recently served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union, where he was responsible for extending the not-for-profit financial institution’s work within the Los Angeles Police and Sheriff’s departments.
Prior to that, he held roles as First Vice President of Marketing, Metrocities Mortgage; Marketing Communications Manager, The California Endowment; Vice President of Marketing, City National Bank; and Writer/Editor/ Supervisor, Los Angeles Daily News Special Sections.
His education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, California State University, Northridge; certification with the Credit Union National Association’s Credit Union Financial Management Program; and numerous media, marketing and communications seminars, conferences and symposiums.
Honors include being a Marketing Association of Credit Union’s Symposium Presenter; Marketing Association of Credit Unions and CUNA Diamond Award honors; United Who’s Who International Winner; Public Relations Society of America International Conference Presenter; APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, Annual Report Award of Excellence; Bronze Award for Annual Report, International Association of Business Communicators; Daily News Real Estate Sections received “Best Merchandising Program of an Associate or Supplier,” Elan California Building Industry Awards; and First, Second and Third place honors, California Newspaper Ad Executives Association Awards.
